What is it about?
This one day course will provide participants with an introduction to the basics of preparing for, delivering and evaluating training.
It will be of particular benefit to those who have not delivered training before but who are interested in finding out what is involved, or people who would like to refresh their training skills.
What will I get out of it?
By the end of the course you will:
- understand what makes a good trainer
- know what sort of trainer you are
- understand the learning cycle and how adults learn
- have explored a range of teaching methods and aids
- be able plan, prepare and deliver a training session
You will also have the opportunity to prepare and deliver a short training session to the rest of the group and receive feedback from them and the tutor.
Course overview
The course is non-accredited and is at an introductory level, providing an opportunity to progress to other more in-depth courses at a later date.
The learning style will be tutor-led, with a large component of interactive discussion sessions and participative exercises. Learners are expected to draw from their own experiences in credit unions.
You will receive a course workbook and handouts. Successful completion of the course is achieved on submission and assessment of a short assignment.
