Building Partnerships

"The key to a successful credit union is building business partnerships within your market"

Since 2003 when NACUW members started working on the Community Banking Partnership approach, the credit union sector now recognises that setting up local coalitions can help you to achieve better results far more quickly.

But like everything, there is an art and skill to doing this. Building partnerships is easy. Negotiating a partnership that works to your advantage is tricky.

This session will help you to

  • dentify which potential partners you should target;

  • value and charge for your services, rather than giving them away;

  • build partnerships with the public, private and community sectors, and how these can generate valuable income streams;

  • develop efficient referral networks;

  • negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs); and

  • learn about new cutting edge practice from around the country.

Most credit unions are failing to recognise what they have to 'sell', and consequently fail to capitalise on valuable sources of revenue and support.

Date: March 13th 2008.      Venue: Exeter
